Job summary

WSP is seeking an HV Cable Engineer to join its Offshore Engineering Team. You will apply engineering judgement to deliver HVAC/HVDC cable designs, from concept to detailed design, supporting procurement, installation, and operation.

You will work with multi-disciplinary teams and maintain high standards of safety and quality across projects. This role offers exposure to landmark offshore wind and interconnector projects with opportunities for professional development within a global engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline, preferably Electrical/Power.
• Experience in offshore cable engineering or marine renewables is highly desirable.
• HVDC projects knowledge, onshore and offshore, including HV cable design and ratings (CYMCAP).
• Strong knowledge of submarine cable systems, including design and installation methods.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of HVAC inter-array and export cables to support sizing, design basis, and rating studies.
• Develop cable system designs and specifications for conductors, insulation, armour, and protection systems.
• Prepare calculations, reports, drawings and technical notes with quality control.
• Coordinate with project managers and clients to gather inputs and ensure timely delivery.
• Deliver tasks within programme, budget and quality requirements and provide progress updates.
• Identify risks, scope changes, and opportunities, implementing mitigations as needed.
