WSP is seeking an HV Cable Engineer to contribute to the Offshore Engineering Team, delivering HVAC/HVDC cabling design tasks from concept to detailed design. You will work within a multi-disciplinary group, interfacing with clients and suppliers to ensure safe, high-quality project delivery.

Formación

• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline, preferably Electrical or Power engineering.
• Prior offshore cable engineering experience is highly desirable.
• Desirable - HVDC projects both onshore and offshore; including HV cable system design (CYMCAP).
• Strong knowledge of submarine cable systems, including cable design, installation methods, and industry standards.

Responsabilidades

• Apply knowledge of HVAC inter-array and export cable systems to support cable sizing, design basis documentation, design reports and current-rating studies.
• Develop practical knowledge of static and dynamic cable applications, recognising when specialist input or escalation is required.
• Translate client and project requirements into clearly defined cable engineering outputs across design, procurement, installation and operation.
• Prepare and check calculations covering cable ratings, electrical characteristics, mechanical loads, pull‑in tensions, installation constraints and related design inputs.
• Coordinate with project managers, lead engineers and suppliers to obtain inputs and progress updates.
