Job summary

SSE Renewables is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to develop and deliver geotechnical strategies for offshore wind projects. You will lead offshore ground investigations, laboratory testing, interpretation and ground modelling, ensuring technical excellence and value across DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX planning.

You will review third-party studies, manage contractors, and collaborate with project teams to ensure safe, compliant delivery from development through operation of complex offshore wind assets.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or related discipline; Chartered status or active progression.
• Experience in offshore ground investigations, laboratory testing, interpretation, ground modelling and foundation design.
• Knowledge of offshore wind lifecycle, risk-based decision making and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver geotechnical strategies for offshore wind projects.
• Coordinate offshore ground investigations, lab testing, interpretation and modelling.
• Review third-party studies and provide technical leadership and risk input.
• Support DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX planning and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Collaborate with project teams to scope consultants and manage contractors.
