Job summary

SSE plc is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Engineering Team, delivering geotechnical strategies for offshore wind projects across the UK and Europe. You will provide technical leadership, manage risk, and influence project programmes from early development through construction and operation.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status or active progression toward professional accreditation.
• Strong understanding of offshore wind development, codes and geotechnical requirements.
• Experience in offshore ground investigations and laboratory testing programmes.
• Ability to apply sound technical judgement across development, construction and operation.

Responsibilities

• Develop geotechnical strategies for offshore wind projects across their lifecycle.
• Plan, coordinate and execute geotechnical activities including ground investigations and testing.
• Collaborate with project teams to scope, specify and manage consultants and contractors.
• Review third‑party studies and foundation/cable design assessments.
• Support DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX planning with a focus on risk management and sustainability.
