Job summary

SSE is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support offshore wind projects from development through construction and operation. You will develop geotechnical strategies, provide technical leadership, and contribute to ground investigations and design decisions.

Based in the UK with a base location including Havant, you will work with project teams to ensure technical excellence, risk-based decisions and compliance with health, safety, environmental and sustainability standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of offshore wind development, legislation and design codes.
• Experience with offshore ground investigations, laboratory testing, ground modelling and geohazard management.
• Ability to apply sound technical judgement with commercial awareness and risk-based decisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver geotechnical strategies supporting offshore wind projects.
• Coordinate offshore ground investigations, testing programmes and ground modelling.
• Collaborate with project teams to scope, manage consultants and ensure technical excellence.
• Review third-party studies and designs, including foundation and cabling assessments.
• Support DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX planning while maintaining HSE standards.
