Job summary

SSE plc seeks a Geotechnical Engineer to lead geotechnical strategies for offshore wind projects across their lifecycle, from development through construction and operation. You will provide technical leadership, coordinate investigations and models, and collaborate with procurement and engineering teams to ensure excellence and value.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field
Chartered status or active progression toward professional accreditation
Strong understanding of offshore wind development and geotechnical requirements

Responsibilities

Develop geotechnical strategies to support offshore wind projects throughout their lifecycle
Plan, coordinate and execute offshore ground investigations and testing programmes
Work with project teams to scope, specify and manage consultants and contractors
Review third‑party studies and designs (desk studies, foundation designs, soil analyses) for technical excellence
Support DEVEX, CAPEX and OPEX planning and drive continuous improvement and safety compliance
