About Us

Manchester Port Health Authority plays a vital role in protecting public health at the port of Manchester. We’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Office Manager to join our small but dedicated team.

The Role

As Office Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office and supporting the Chief Port Health Officer and wider team. This is a varied, hands-on role that covers administration, finance, supplier management, and HR support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General office organisation and administrative support
  • Managing correspondence, filing systems, and diary management
  • Preparing agendas, taking minutes, and coordinating meetings
  • Supporting budget preparation and managing financial records
  • Managing supplier contracts and overseeing office maintenance
  • Creating reports, spreadsheets, and statistical summaries
  • Reconciling bank statements and handling petty cash
  • Uploading documents to the website and assisting with internal communications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven office management or senior admin experience
  • Strong IT skills (especially Microsoft Office & Excel)
  • Good understanding of basic finance (invoicing, reconciliation, budgeting)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • High level of attention to detail and discretion with confidential information
