Job summary

Metro in the United Kingdom seeks an Import Operator for the Ocean Import Customer Services team. You will be at the centre of the customer journey, coordinating international shipments, managing documentation and keeping stakeholders informed to ensure seamless global logistics.

You will build strong relationships, use Excel and Office tools to maintain records, and support reporting while delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

As part of our Ocean Import Customer Services team, you will be at the centre of the customer journey, ensuring shipments move seamlessly across global supply chains while delivering an exceptional customer experience. Acting as a key point of contact for customers, carriers, overseas partners and internal teams, build strong relationships, provide proactive updates and help resolve challenges as they arise.

No two days are the same. You will coordinate international shipments, manage documentation, maintain accurate records and support the smooth running of import operations from start to finish. Alongside developing your understanding of the logistics industry, use tools such as Excel to manage customer information, track activity and support reporting requirements.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast paced environment and takes pride in delivering a great service. Whether you already have experience in logistics or are looking to bring transferable skills from another customer-focused role, we will provide the training, support and development needed to help you build a successful career with Metro.
