Job summary

Metro, based at our Birmingham HQ, is seeking a Commercial Performance Analyst to protect profitability and influence commercial outcomes through data-driven decision making. You will partner with Commercial, Operations and Finance to challenge loss-making activity and improve pricing governance.

You will turn complex financial data into practical recommendations, driving disciplined, scalable analysis that supports sustainable growth and strategic planning across the business.

Responsibilities

• Protecting and enhancing profitability across the business.
• Analysing profitability, margin performance and P&L results across customers, departments and the wider business.
• Monitoring actual versus expected profitability, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Providing commercial insight and recommendations to support pricing decisions, forecasting and strategic planning.
• Challenging loss-making activity, margin erosion and low-quality revenue streams while supporting corrective action.
• Acting as a trusted business partner to Commercial, Operations and senior leadership teams.
• Supporting improvements to pricing governance, reporting frameworks and profitability controls.
• Translating complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
• Driving continuous improvement through scalable processes, robust analysis and commercial discipline.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of our Commercial Performance team, you will be responsible for protecting and enhancing profitability across the business. Your role will include:
