Job summary

TLP in Solihull is seeking an experienced Ocean Export Coordinator to manage end-to-end export shipments from booking through to final delivery. You will liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers and customers to ensure the smooth movement of cargo and timely updates, while prioritising accuracy in export documentation.

The role demands excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to handle multiple shipments concurrently, and a proactive approach to problem-solving

Qualifications

• Experience in Ocean Export within freight forwarding or similar environment.
• Good understanding of international shipping documentation and export procedures.
• Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end Ocean Export process from booking through to final delivery.
• Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers, customs brokers and customers to ensure smooth movement of cargo.
• Monitor shipments and provide customers with regular progress updates.
• Prepare and process export documentation accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
• Coordinate customs clearance and ensure compliance with all UK Export regulations.
• Arrange transport and final deliveries with hauliers and warehouse partners.
• Raise job files, check costs and process supplier and customer invoices.
• Resolve shipment delays or operational issues professionally and timely.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and overseas partners.
• Ensure all files are completed accurately and meet company KPIs and service standards.

The Opportunity

Our client, a well-established and growing international freight forwarding business, is seeking an experienced Ocean Export Coordinator to join their busy operations team based in Solihull.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and customer-focused freight forwarding professional to manage ocean import shipments from origin through to final delivery. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring shipments are handled efficiently while delivering outstanding service to customers and overseas partners.

Key Responsibilities

About You

• Previous experience working within Ocean Export in a freight forwarding environment is ideal, but similar backgrounds will be considered.
• A good understanding of international shipping documentation and import procedures.
• Knowledge of UK customs processes (desirable but not essential).
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments at once.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and freight forwarding systems.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
