Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking Nursery Practitioners to join its network of nurseries and early years settings across Exeter and surrounding areas. The role offers flexible day-to-day work, with varied shifts from 8:00am to 6:00pm and the option to work a few days or regular hours.

We welcome Level 2/3 childcare qualifications or QTS, and prior experience in Early Years. You will support children aged 0-5, maintain safeguarding, and foster positive relationships with families and nursery teams.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification, or QTS.
• Previous experience in an Early Years or nursery setting.
• A genuine passion for working with young children.
• A caring, patient and enthusiastic personality.

Responsibilities

• Creating a safe, happy and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5.
• Supporting children’s learning and development through play-based activities.
• Building positive relationships with children, parents and nursery teams.
• Supporting daily routines, including mealtimes, personal care and outdoor play.
• Following EYFS framework and promoting children's development.
• Ensuring safeguarding and children's wellbeing.

What does the role involve?

Creating a safe, happy and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5.

Supporting children's learning and development through play-based activities.

Building positive relationships with children, parents and nursery teams.

Supporting daily routines, including mealtimes, personal care and outdoor play.

Following the EYFS framework and promoting children's individual development.

Ensuring safeguarding and children's wellbeing remain a top priority.

What are we looking for?

Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification, or QTS.

Previous experience working within an Early Years or nursery setting.

A genuine passion for working with young children.

A caring, patient and enthusiastic personality.

Confidence working with different age groups, from babies to preschool.

Flexibility, reliability and the ability to adapt to different nursery environments.

A good understanding of safeguarding and the EYFS framework.
