Job summary

St. George’s Nursery Group is seeking a Nursery Room Leader to support and guide a small team, ensuring the room runs smoothly each day and that high standards of care, education and safeguarding are met.

You’ll work with the Deputy and Nursery Manager, maintain EYFS records, and help create a positive environment where children and staff can thrive.

The role is ideal for a qualified childcare professional seeking progression within a supportive, inclusive workplace that values its people.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
• Good understanding of the EYFS and ability to maintain development records.
• Enhanced DBS check and references required.
• Childcare experience: 3 years+
• Management experience: preferred but not essential

Responsibilities

• Liaise with and support parents, carers and other family members.
• Support all staff and promote a good staff team.
• Lead a small team in your room to provide an exceptional level of childcare.
• Supported by the nursery management team.
• Maintain good practice in your room, ensuring that the EYFS is adhered to.
• Keeping records of children’s progress, routines, and interests.

About You

This is the perfect first step into nursery leadership. As a Nursery Room Leader, you’ll support and guide your team, work closely with the Deputy and Nursery Manager, and help ensure the room runs smoothly each day. You’ll play an important part in maintaining high standards of care, education and safeguarding, while helping to create a positive environment where both children and staff can thrive. What We’re Looking For
