Job summary

St. George's Nursery is seeking a Nursery Room Leader to support and guide a small team, ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding in line with EYFS.

You will work with the Deputy and Nursery Manager to ensure smooth daily operations and an exceptional parent experience. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of childcare, a Level 3 Early Years qualification, and a strong commitment to staff development and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
• Good understanding of EYFS and keeping development records.
• Enhanced DBS check and references required.
• Childcare experience 3+ years.
• Management experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with and support parents, carers and family members.
• Lead a small team in your room to provide exceptional childcare.
• Maintain good practice and ensure EYFS adherence in your room.
• Support staff and promote a positive team culture.
• Work closely with Deputy and Nursery Manager to run the room smoothly.

About you

This is the perfect first step into nursery leadership. As a Nursery Room Leader, you’ll support and guide your team, work closely with the Deputy and Nursery Manager, and help ensure the room runs smoothly each day. You’ll play an important part in maintaining high standards of care, education and safeguarding, while helping to create a positive environment where both children and staff can thrive. Your Role

As Nursery Room Leader, you will:

• Liaise with and support parents, carers and other family members.
• Support all staff and promote a good staff team.
• Lead a small team in your room to provide an exceptional level of childcare.
• supported by the nursery management team.
• Maintain good practice in your room, ensuring that the EYFS is adhered to.
• Keeping records of children's progress, routines, and interests.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
• You must have a good understanding of the EYFS and be capable of maintaining children's development records.
• We are committed to safeguarding children, and all posts are subject to an enhanced DBS check and references.
• Childcare experience: 3 years+ (Required)
• Management experience: (Preferred but not essential)
