Job summary

Rising Stars Nurseries is seeking a dedicated practitioner to take key-person responsibility for a group of children aged 3 months to 5 years, including planning, assessment, next steps and record keeping, and writing reports within required timescales.

You will plan and provide high-quality learning experiences aligned with the new EYFS, foster strong relationships with parents and carers, work with the team to uphold standards of care and safety, and participate in training and development.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Famly for recording children’s development is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Take key-person responsibility for a group of children, including planning, assessment, next steps and record keeping.
  • Plan, prepare and review the curriculum with the team reflecting the EYFS.
  • Plan and provide learning opportunities for children aged 3 months to 5 years, ensuring each child’s needs are met.
  • Foster and develop good relationships with parents and carers in partnership with them.
  • Maintain high standards of care and education for all children irrespective of background.
  • Work within a team and support the team ensuring company policies are adhered to.
  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, training and development days and external training as appropriate.
  • Implement health and safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed by line Manager.

Job Purpose
  • To take key-person responsibility for a group of children, including planning, assessment, next steps and record keeping. Write reports and ensure they are prepared within the required timescale.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • To be responsible for the planning of appropriate learning activities which offer high quality learning experiences to children from 3 months to 5 years, ensuring each child has the opportunity to develop to their full potential.
  • To plan, prepare and review the curriculum with your team reflective of the new EYFS.
  • To plan and provide a range of educational and developmental opportunities for children aged 3 months to 5 years, ensuring that each child’s needs are met.
  • To foster and develop good relationships with parents and carers and to ensure that planning for their children is in partnership with them.
  • To achieve and maintain high standards of care and education for all children irrespective of their background. To ensure that their education and developmental opportunities reflect this.
  • To work within a team and support the team ensuring that company policies are adhered to at all times.
  • Participate in staff and room meetings, supervision, staff training and development days and external training as appropriate.
  • To implement health and safety and hygiene regulations.
  • To undertake additional or other duties as may be appropriate to achieve the objectives of the post and as directed and deemed appropriate line Manager.
Experience/Skills
  • Level 3 in Childcare and Education or its equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience of Famly for recording children’s development desirable but not essential.
