Job description

Job Title: Level 3 Nursery Practitioner

Location: Chelmsford

Salary: £12‑£14 per hour

The Role

We are looking for a Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join a home‑from‑home setting that offers a warm, nurturing environment for children. The nursery includes a dedicated outdoor learning space and an after‑school club. The ideal candidate is genuinely passionate about childcare and seeks a long‑term role within the setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS
• Create a caring, engaging and safe environment
• Build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues
• Take part in observations, planning and daily routines
• Be open to learning and embracing the nursery’s way of working

Hours & Benefits

• Hours/Shifts: 35 hours per week, ranging from 07:30‑18:30 weekdays
• Salary: £12‑£14 per hour
• Holiday Allowance: 25 days plus bank holidays, increases with continuous service

Setting Specifics

• Number of children on roll: 70
• Number of rooms in the setting: 3
• Team Culture: Small team, everyone gets along very well and works incredibly well together
• CPD & Progression Opportunities: Yearly training on Citation, pediatric first aid training every 3 years, other relevant training dependent on job role
