Nursery Manager

Nurse Seekers are proud to be working on behalf of an excellent Ofsted-rated “Outstanding” Day Nursery, which is looking to recruit a Nursery Manager for their quality, purpose-built setting near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. The ideal candidate will manage, mentor, and support the nursery staff team, ensuring that the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual education and care provided to children is of the highest standard.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. Ensure full compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
2. Collaborate with the directors to develop and review the curriculum, activities, and policies to ensure high standards and adherence to the Early Years Foundation Stage.
3. Ensure implementation of nursery policies, curriculum, and programmes.
4. Manage and support all staff members, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
5. Work in partnership with parents, carers, and family members, ensuring their views are considered and communicated to the directors.
6. Oversee day-to-day health and safety management within the nursery.
7. Represent the nursery as an ambassador, fostering teamwork to develop and maintain the nursery’s reputation as a centre of excellence.

Requirements

• Early years education and care qualification at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent; degree-qualified practitioners preferred.
• Experience in a Nursery manager role.
• Understanding of special educational needs and equality of opportunity.
• Paediatric first-aid and food hygiene training.
• Experience in staff training and development.
