Job summary

Storal Alexandra Park Nursery in Manchester is seeking a dedicated Nursery Chef/Cook to prepare nutritious meals and maintain top safety standards in the kitchen. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, contributing to a healthy eating environment for children.

The role requires Level 2 Food and Hygiene, kitchen experience, and knowledge of health and safety/COSHH. Benefits include enhanced holidays, sick pay, and wellbeing days.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food and Hygiene qualification.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen as an assistant cook/chef.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and COSHH.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious, freshly made meals and maintain high safety and hygiene standards in the nursery kitchen.
• Support stock control and stock rotation.
• Follow COSHH and health and safety guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with relevant food safety regulations.
• Cater to children with specific dietary needs.

How you’ll spend your time here

As a Nursery Chef/Cook, you’ll prepare nutritious, freshly made meals whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and hygiene in the nursery kitchen at all times. Your flexibility and reliability will ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen.

• Catering for children with specific dietary needs


• Working to an extremelyhigh level when it comes to the relevantFood and Hygiene,Chartered Institute of Environmental Health-Food Safety, Health and Safety and Ofsted guidelines and regulations


• Ensuring thatall children have rich stimulating eating experiences


• Maintaining stock levels and ensuring stock rotation


• Following COSHH and other relevant guidelines
