Job summary

WMC Training in Crawley (RH10) seeks a dedicated Nursery apprentice to join a professional and supportive team. You will assist educators, work with children aged 0-5, and learn through a structured training pathway.

Previous nursery experience is required, with a genuine interest in developing young minds and a commitment to completing a childcare qualification while upholding safeguarding and welfare standards.

Responsibilities

• Support fellow educators to deliver the setting’s curriculum and standard of practice.
• Work towards an early years qualification with support from the setting’s staff and training provider.
• Seek support from team members to assist learning.
• Work with children aged 0-5 years, meeting daily needs (feeding, nappies, toileting).
• Deliver and meet Early Years Foundation Stage requirements as part of a team.
• Plan and support age-appropriate play aligned with the curriculum and individual needs.
• Safeguard and promote welfare of all children.
• Observe, assess and record learning and development progress.
• Provide an enabling environment meeting each child’s needs.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers.
• Follow setting policies and procedures.
• Attend regular team meetings.
• Maintain health, safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Attend additional training events as identified by the Setting Manager.
• Liaise with external agencies to support children as appropriate.
• Undertake other duties as needed by the Setting Manager.

WMC Training is seeking a dedicated Nursery apprentice to join the professional, rewarding, and supportive team in Crawley (RH10).

The ideal candidate will bring previous experience working with children ,a genuine interest in developing the talent of younger generations, and a strong desire to make a difference in children's lives.

MUST have experience working at the nursery setting before . You will be a collaborative team member, equally capable of taking initiative, and adept at planning enriching activities.

DUTIES

• 1. To support fellow educators/practitioners to deliver the setting’s curriculum and standard of practice.
• 2. To work towards an early years qualification with support from the setting’s staff and training provider.
• 3. To seek support from members of the team to assist your learning.
• 4. To work closely with children aged 0-5 years old, looking after their daily needs such as feeding, nappy changing and toileting.
• 5. To work as part of a team to deliver and meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage for all children.
• 6. To plan, provide and support age-appropriate play opportunities in line with the curriculum and individual needs of the children in your care.
• 7. To ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care.
• 8. To observe, assess and record children’s learning and development progress.
• 9. Provide an enabling environment that meets the needs of each unique individual child.
• 10. To build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers.
• 11. To adhere to and follow the setting’s policies and procedures.
• 12. To attend regular team meetings.
• 13. To ensure standards of health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
• 14. To attend additional training events and meetings as identified by the Setting Manager for training requirements.
• 15. To liaise and work in partnership with external agencies (both statutory and voluntary) to support children within the setting as appropriate.
• 16. To undertake any other duties as deemed necessary by the Setting Manager
