Job summary

WMC Training in Crawley is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join a professional, supportive team. The role focuses on caring for children aged 0–5, delivering play-based learning and observing developmental progress.

Ideal candidates have prior nursery experience, are willing to pursue LV2/LV3 qualifications, and are committed to ongoing training. This in-person position offers opportunity for progression to LV5 Lead Practitioner.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support educators to deliver the setting’s curriculum and standards of practice.
• Work towards an early years qualification with support from staff.
• Seek support from team to assist learning.
• Care for children aged 0–5 and meet their daily needs.
• Deliver and meet the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.
• Plan and provide age-appropriate play aligned with the curriculum and children's needs.
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare of all children.
• Observe, assess and record children's learning progress.
• Create an enabling environment for each child.
• Build positive relationships with parents/care providers.
• Follow setting policies and attend regular meetings.
• Maintain health, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Attend training events as required by the Setting Manager.
• Liaise with external agencies to support children as appropriate.

WMC Training is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitionerto join the professional, rewarding, and supportive team at Crawley(RH10).

The ideal candidate will bring previous experience working with children ,a genuine interest in developing the talent of younger generations, and a strong desire to make a difference in children's lives.

MUST have experience working at the nursery setting before . You will be a collaborative team member, equally capable of taking initiative, and adept at planning enriching activities.

DUTIES

1. To support fellow educators/practitioners to deliver the setting’s curriculum and standard of practice.
2. To work towards an early years qualification with support from the setting’s staff and training provider.
3. To seek support from members of the team to assist your learning.
4. To work closely with children aged 0-5 years old, looking after their daily needs such as feeding, nappy changing and toileting.
5. To work as part of a team to deliver and meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage for all children.
6. To plan, provide and support age-appropriate play opportunities in line with the curriculum and individual needs of the children in your care.
7. To ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care.
8. To observe, assess and record children’s learning and development progress.
9. Provide an enabling environment that meets the needs of each unique individual child.
10. To build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers.
11. To adhere to and follow the setting’s policies and procedures.
12. To attend regular team meetings.
13. To ensure standards of health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
14. To attend additional training events and meetings as identified by the Setting Manager for training requirements.
15. To liaise and work in partnership with external agencies (both statutory and voluntary) to support children within the setting as appropriate.
16. To undertake any other duties as deemed necessary by the Setting Manager
