Job summary

WMC Training in Dartford is seeking a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our professional, supportive nursery school. The role is 35 hours per week, in person, and requires prior nursery experience and LV2 Early Years qualification.

You will work with children aged 0-5, support planning activities, observe progress, and help deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage. There is opportunity to enrol in LV3 and LV5 qualifications to progress your career.

Qualifications

• Must have prior nursery experience or experience working around children.
• Willing to progress with LV3 - Early Years Educator and/or LV5 Lead Practitioner qualification.
• Ability to write clear objective observations.
• Commitment to complete a childcare qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support fellow educators to deliver the curriculum and standard of practice.
• Work toward an early years qualification with support from staff and training provider.
• Seek support from team to assist learning.
• Work with children aged 0-5, including feeding, nappies, and toileting.
• Deliver and meet requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
• Plan and support age-appropriate play in line with the curriculum.
• Ensure safeguarding and welfare of all children.
• Observe, assess and record children's learning progress.
• Provide an enabling environment for each child.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers.
• Adhere to setting policies and procedures.
• Attend regular team meetings.
• Maintain health, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Attend additional training events as identified.

The ideal candidate will bring previous experience working with children, a genuine interest in developing the talent of younger generations, and a strong desire to make a difference in children's lives.

MUST hold a LV2 Early Years qualification as a minimum gained working at the nursery setting before or around children. You will be a collaborative team member, equally capable of taking initiative, and adept at planning enriching activities.

DUTIES

1. To support fellow educators/practitioners to deliver the setting’s curriculum and standard of practice.
2. To work towards an early years qualification with support from the setting’s staff and training provider.
3. To seek support from members of the team to assist your learning.
4. To work closely with children aged 0-5 years old, looking after their daily needs such as feeding, nappy changing and toileting.
5. To work as part of a team to deliver and meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage for all children.
6. To plan, provide and support age-appropriate play opportunities in line with the curriculum and individual needs of the children in your care.
7. To ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care.
8. To observe, assess and record children’s learning and development progress.
9. Provide an enabling environment that meets the needs of each unique individual child.
10. To build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers.
11. To adhere to and follow the setting’s policies and procedures.
12. To attend regular team meetings.
13. To ensure standards of health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
14. To attend additional training events and meetings as identified by the Setting Manager for training requirements.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
