Job summary

United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory is recruiting a Mechanical Plant Engineer to ensure compliance with mechanical maintenance procedures and to drive improvements across plant systems.

The role involves working with the Design team on changes, reviewing equipment parameters and providing ageing plant assessments within the Asset Care program, while supporting EHSSQ standards and cross-team mentoring.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical discipline or equivalent (HND acceptable).
• Strong communication with customers and stakeholders.
• Conservative decision making under pressure.
• Knowledge of operational and maintenance requirements.
• Ability to interface with Design and Capability teams; eligible for PMP Manager roles.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with sites' mechanical maintenance procedures.
• Interface with Design team on mechanical changes and testing.
• Review mechanical equipment parameters and trend analysis.
• Support ageing plant assessments within Asset Care program.
• Undertake small-scale infrastructure improvement projects.
• Conduct self-audits and EHSSQ compliance.
• Mentor the Engineering team and assist incident investigations.
