Job summary

United Kingdom National Nuclear Laboratory (UKNNL) is seeking a Mechanical Plant Engineer at Sellafield, Cumbria. You will ensure safe, compliant mechanical maintenance in line with Nuclear Site Licence and regulatory requirements, reporting to the Engineering Manager.

The role involves coordinating with design teams, reviewing change packages, analyzing equipment parameters, and contributing to asset care and improvement projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical discipline or equivalent (HND acceptable).
• Strong communication skills with customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Conservative decision making under pressure.
• Experience in operational & maintenance requirements.
• Willingness to obtain PMP Manager and related security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with site engineering procedures for operations and maintenance.
• Challenge maintenance processes and maintain plant to high standards.
• Interface with Design on mechanical changes and review change packages.
• Review equipment parameters, perform trend analysis and implement improvements.
• Provide ageing-plant advice and support Asset Care program.
• Lead small infrastructure improvement projects and supervise tasks.
