Job summary

Hawk Hiring in Nottingham seeks an active DVSA MOT Tester for a busy independent service centre. You will conduct Class 4 MOT inspections, service work, and pre-MOT rectifications in a clean, modern testing station.

The role requires DVSA Smart Card / MOT Tester Licence, time-served mechanical background, and a valid UK driving licence. A team-friendly, safety-focused environment with a Monday–Friday schedule plus Saturday rota is offered.

Qualifications

Active DVSA Smart Card / Valid MOT Tester Licence required.
Time-served mechanic with NVQ Level 3 / IMI Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or time-served equivalent.
Methodical inspector committed to accurate safety checks and honest trade practices.
Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

Perform strict, objective Class 4 MOT inspections in full compliance with current DVSA testing standards.
Carry out routine servicing, fast-fit repairs (brakes, suspension, lighting, emissions components), and pre-MOT rectifications.
Complete accurate digital test logs and document advisory items or failures clearly for service advisors.
Ensure MOT testing equipment, lift bays, and calibration tools remain clean, safe, and fully operational.
Uphold strict workshop health, safety, and operational protocols at all times.
