Job summary

Arup seeks an Associate / Associate Director to lead policy and spatial strategy work in the North of England, growing client relationships and driving high‑quality planning advice across our portfolio.

The role involves developing strategic planning guidance, managing bids and project delivery, and shaping evidence bases while collaborating with planners, economists and transport specialists to deliver deliverable places.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of policy and spatial strategy legislation and local plan systems.
• Experience preparing local and strategic plans and evidence base documents.
• Experience leading bids, client liaison and project delivery in a commercial environment.

Responsibilities

• Grow market share by identifying and pursuing prospects and projects.
• Engage with existing and potential clients to maintain a strong pipeline of repeat work.
• Lead delivery of projects with strategic direction, QA, and profitability.
• Interface with multi-disciplinary teams to maximise opportunities and integrated delivery.
