Job summary

Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd is seeking a Customer and Trading Manager for the nightshift in Wakefield. You will oversee overnight replenishment, manage a team, and be responsible for safe store operations and readiness for the morning trade.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on management, and a proven track record of coaching teams to deliver excellent customer service while meeting KPI targets. This position is full-time and permanent with a base salary plus a nightshift premium.

Qualifications

• Nightshift experience in a high-volume operational environment.
• Previous line management responsibilities in a fast-paced setting.
• Resilience to the mental and physical demands of night work.
• Proven ability to coach teams to deliver brilliant customer service.
• Experience leading a team and meeting KPIs across store operations.
• Experience managing employee relations including performance and absence.
• Desirable: worked night shifts in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead overnight replenishment activities and prioritise deliveries, organise warehouse, replenish shelves.
• Often run full store operations overnight, responsible for safety and wellbeing of colleagues.
• Ensure standards are excellent by morning so we can serve customers.
• Manage performance, capability, disciplinaries, scheduling and pay accuracy.
