We have a fantastic new vacancy for a Night Manager at Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West

Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West is a 160‑bedroom hotel situated on the leafy Heriot‑Watt University campus, with a state‑of‑the‑art lobby and ‘The Avenue’ at the centre of it all. Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West is managed by Lighthouse Hotel Management, the operational arm of the Molo Hotel Group.

Job Description

As the Night Manager, you will play a pivotal role in creating unforgettable moments for our guests while ensuring the smooth operation of our reception desk and leading the team throughout the night.

Responsibilities
  • Front Desk Excellence: report directly to the Front Office Manager, lead a team of Night Auditors, and inspire them to provide outstanding service with a smile, ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome.
  • Guest Engagement: greet each guest warmly, anticipate their needs, and go above and beyond to exceed expectations, building genuine connections that turn first‑time visitors into loyal fans.
  • Supervision and Training: oversee nightly reception operations, mentor the Night Auditors, and provide ongoing training to equip the team with the skills needed to create magical guest experiences.
  • Problem Solving: handle guest requests, complaints, and challenging situations with grace and efficiency, turning obstacles into opportunities that showcase our commitment to satisfaction.
  • Collaboration: work closely with the day‑time reception team, provide a full handover, and foster teamwork to deliver seamless guest experiences.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role desirable, but not essential; full on‑the‑job training will be provided.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional language proficiency is a bonus.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional guest service with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of hotel management systems.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as the hotel operates 24/7.
