Pioneer Selection is seeking a Nights Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a leading food manufacturing business in Leighton Buzzard. You will provide electrical and mechanical maintenance across production equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Electrical fault-finding and mechanical fitting experience.
• Experience working with industrial machinery or production equipment.
• Engineering qualification (BTEC or NVQ Level 3 Apprenticeship or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Respond to breakdowns and carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).

You will be responsible for providing essential electrical and mechanical maintenance support across production machinery and factory equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency.

The role will involve responding to breakdowns, carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault-finding and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and minimise production downtime.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Electrical fault-finding and mechanical fitting experience.
• Experience working with industrial machinery or production equipment.
• Relevant engineering qualification, such as a BTEC or NVQ Level 3 Apprenticeship, or equivalent.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures within an engineering environment.

Requirements for the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to identify faults, establish root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
• Ability to work effectively within a busy production environment, minimising downtime and disruption.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering and operations teams.
• Strong attention to detail, a proactive approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and follow site hygiene and food safety standards.

Desirable Requirements for the Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

• Previous experience within the food manufacturing or FMCG sector.
• Experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• 18th Edition electrical qualification.
• Experience with automation and controls.
• Higher-level engineering apprenticeship or additional technical qualifications.
• Experience mentoring apprentices or supporting the development of other engineers.
