Job description
Role Overview

Are you tired of the same old boring night jobs? Well, look no further! We are seeking a proactive, personable, stay‑awake‑at‑night type of person to join our team as a Night Worker (internally known as a Building Supervisor) in our supported accommodation buildings in Cheltenham. This full‑time position involves four 12.25‑hour shifts per week on a rolling rota (8 pm‑8:15 am, 1‑hour unpaid break).

What Kind of Person Are We Looking For?

If you love working nights, keep busy during quiet shifts, and are always happy to talk and help people, you’re off to a great start. Experience interacting with a diverse cross‑section of society would be useful but is not essential and training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Your focus will be to ensure that our buildings are safe and secure for the residents, acting as a point of contact for residents and liaising with support staff to maintain smooth handovers. Key duties include:

  • Keeping the building clean, tidy and presentable
  • Undertaking light maintenance duties
  • Engaging with residents who may need someone to listen to them
  • Defusing situations that may affect the health, safety or well‑being of residents
  • Conducting health and safety checks and walk‑arounds throughout the shift
  • Using sound judgment to resolve situations or seek support from peers and emergency services when necessary

There will be tailored, specific training that will help you advance through a career pathway at CCP, and you will be expected to champion our commitment to health, wellbeing, diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

We look for empathetic, driven, and motivating individuals who embrace opportunity and are willing to learn and reflect. A prior conviction will not necessarily prevent you from joining CCP, subject to satisfactory pre‑employment checks and an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Services check paid for by CCP.
