Job summary

GXO Northampton is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join our brand-new operation at Swan Valley on a full-time, permanent basis. You will handle goods-in, stock control, picking, packing and dispatch, supporting a fast-paced distribution centre.

The role operates on a two-week rota (Week 1: Mon-Fri, Week 2: Sun-Thu), 22:00–06:00, 40 hours per week. Benefits include night shift allowance, 33 days leave, pension, GP service, and GXO University access.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a fast-paced, operational or warehouse environment advantageous but not essential as full training can be provided
• A self-motivated and reliable approach, with the ability to work honestly and with integrity at all times
• The ability to work safely and accurately, following processes and SOPs with a strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset
• Strong communication skills and a professional, positive attitude, with the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Support goods-in, goods-out and stock control activities using the Warehouse Management System (WMS), including receiving deliveries, replenishment, order fulfilment and dispatch operations
• Pick and prepare stock safely and accurately, ensuring health, beauty, household and retail products are handled with care and attention to detail
• Work efficiently and flexibly to achieve daily productivity, service and accuracy targets, both independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced distribution centre environment
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area by following all Health & Safety procedures, Safe Systems of Work and Standard Operating Procedures, while proactively reporting hazards and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
