Job summary

Tesco in Ipswich is seeking a Shift Lead for night shifts to lead store teams and ensure a high standard of customer service. You will coordinate across departments, manage day-to-day queries, and model excellent service while supporting the Manager in their absence.

Competitive night pay with a base rate and premium, minimum weekly hours guaranteed, and strong focus on flexibility and community impact. Applicants must be 18+ and ready to work nights.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Be a strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer’s needs are met.
• Build positive, long‑lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.
• A clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
• A natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.

Responsibilities

• Leading the team to deliver a great experience for customers in-store
• Working across all areas of the store and with all colleagues, being the go-to person for day-to-day operational queries
• Building positive, inclusive relationships that help colleagues perform at their best
• Confidently leading the store in the Manager’s absence
• Making balanced, flexible decisions and adapting well to change
• Coaching colleagues, giving feedback and role modelling great service
• Staying curious and seeking opportunities to serve our customers, communities, and planet a little better every day
