Job summary

Focal Systems is seeking a Field Service Team Lead to oversee on-site installations across the UK. The role involves night shifts, leading a small team of technicians, and ensuring timely, high-quality deployments of our camera-based retail OS.

Qualifications

• Proven field service experience, with some leadership or supervisory responsibility.
• Strong leadership, motivating a team to meet goals under time pressure.
• Solid hardware/software troubleshooting abilities for on-site issues.
• Proficient with installation tools and equipment required for field work.
• Excellent stamina for long shifts and physically demanding tasks.
• Detail-oriented with focus on quality and accuracy.
• Effective time management to meet tight schedules.
• Clear communication with supervisors, customers, and team.
• Valid UK driving licence and reliable transport to travel to sites.
• Ability to work night hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a small team of field technicians on site.
• Install, mount, connect and configure camera hardware per standards.
• Perform pre-installation site checks and briefings to prevent issues.
• Serve as primary on-site contact, escalate and resolve issues to meet SLAs.
• Review installations and sign off before handover to customer.
• Maintain records of activities, parts used, and time spent.
• Onboard/scanning products and lead night installations when needed.
• Operate power tools safely and ensure team compliance with safety rules.
• Mentor teammates to develop installation skills and knowledge.
• Ensure installations meet quality standards and KPI targets.
