Job summary

The hourly pay ranges £12.71–£13.50, depending on experience. The ideal candidate has at least six months’ UK care experience, with newborn or childcare exposure and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months experience in a UK care setting.
• Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service preferred.
• Experience with newborns, maternity services, or childcare preferred.
• Excellent written communication and accurate record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Monitor family interactions and observe newborn care practices.
• Maintain safety and safeguarding per policies.
• Intervene and escalate unsafe care accordingly.
• Keep detailed, objective notes of observations and incidents.
• Provide guidance on newborn care and safe sleep.
• Report concerns to senior staff promptly.
• Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety policies.
• Provide clear handovers to colleagues.
• Remain vigilant overnight during night shifts.
