Beacon Lodge is a mental health step-down unit that supports individuals transitioning from acute mental health wards back into the community. Passionate about people, you’ll enjoy the scope of your role and support individuals in gaining skills to live independently. With an emphasis on key working, you’ll need to work flexibly to manage your own small caseload and assist with the day-to-day running of the service.
Raising the bar for person-centred care, you’ll provide a range of recovery-focused support through key working sessions and group activities. Your work will truly change lives as you enable and prepare individuals to acquire new skills and promote their long-term recovery.
As a Night Recovery Worker, you’ll work with individuals on their recovery, devising tailored support and risk management plans, and ensuring effective discharge planning. Ultimately, you’ll play a vital role in helping them develop skills and coping strategies, encouraging positive change and independence.
This role requires working night shifts as part of a 24-hour service.
Ideally with experience in the mental health sector, it’s essential to have a good understanding of the recovery model, along with a solution-focused attitude and a person-centred approach. You’ll be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment and challenging situations.
Most importantly, you should enjoy engaging with people with diverse needs, be genuinely interested in helping them, and possess empathy, understanding, and patience.
