Job summary

Arriva UK Bus is seeking skilled and experienced Engineers to join our expanding teams across the business. You will maintain and improve our fleet, ensuring vehicles stay safe, reliable and fully operational for millions of passengers.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in PSV or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Experience as a PSV Engineer, HGV Technician, Bus Mechanic or similar.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability in a workshop or fleet.
• Experience using engineering tools, workshop equipment and vehicle diagnostics.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong health and safety awareness in engineering/transport.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on buses and related vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults with diagnostic tools.
• Complete repairs, modifications, and upgrades per DVSA and safety standards.
• Support fleet reliability through fault finding and problem solving.
• Read and interpret drawings and technical documentation.
• Ensure maintenance work is safe, efficient and high quality.
• Maintain engineering records and inspection reports.
• Collaborate with workshop teams and operations.
• Support continuous improvement to improve vehicle reliability and workshop efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and apprentices.
