Job summary

Arriva UK Bus is seeking skilled engineers to join their growing teams. The role covers PSV/HGV maintenance, with duties spanning preventative work, fault diagnosis, and repairs for buses and related equipment.

You will interpret engineering drawings, follow safety standards, and maintain comprehensive records. Previous PSV/HGV experience and a strong fault-finding ability are essential for providing reliable fleet support across the network.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in PSV or Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Previous experience as a PSV Engineer, HGV Technician, Bus Mechanic, Vehicle Technician, Mechanical Engineer, or Heavy Vehicle Engineer.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding experience in a workshop or fleet environment.
• Experience using engineering tools and diagnostic systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on buses, PSVs, vehicles, and engineering equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic tools.
• Complete repairs, modifications, and upgrades in line with DVSA, safety, and engineering standards.
• Support fleet reliability through fault finding and technical problem solving.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Ensure maintenance work is safe, efficient, and high quality.
• Maintain accurate engineering records and maintenance documentation.
• Work collaboratively with workshop teams, supervisors, and operational departments.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve vehicle reliability and workshop efficiency.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and apprentices.
