Job summary

J.W. Lees & Co. in the United Kingdom is recruiting a Night Porter to join our hospitality team. You will assist guests during night hours, manage late check-ins, deliver room service, and help maintain security and cleanliness across the property.

Qualifications

• Experience in guest services within hospitality.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work overnight shifts and stay alert during the night.

Responsibilities

• Check in late arrivals and check out early departures in line with procedures.
• Ensure thorough communication with all departments during shifts.
• Complete all tasks and handover at shift end.
• Make wake up calls and arrange taxis for guests as needed.
• Take room service orders and deliver to guests.
• Assist at residents' bar, including drinks service and cleaning.
• Know fire evacuation procedures and basic computer systems.
• Keep site secure and perform night-time walkarounds.
• Set up rooms for meetings or private dining.
• Provide personal attention and teamwork to deliver excellent guest service.

Night Porter Role and Responsibilities:

• Check in late arrivals and check out early departures in line with company procedures.
• Ensure thorough communication with all departments.
• Ensure that all tasks are completed on each shift and complete handover at the end of the shift.
• Ensure that wake up calls are made promptly and book any taxis for guests.
• Take room service orders and deliver to guests.
• Residents' bar - preparing and serving drinks, cleaning duties.
• Have a thorough knowledge of the fire evacuation procedure and computer systems.
• Ensure site is secure and complete regular walk arounds throughout the shift.
• Set up rooms for meetings and private dining.
• Give personal attention, take personal responsibility and use teamwork to provide excellent guest service.
