Job summary

The Meadow Lark in Trumpington, Cambridgeshire, opens late 2026 with premium pubs and rooms. We are recruiting Night Porters to join the opening team, ensuring guest safety and a welcoming overnight environment.

Ideal candidates are reliable, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working independently. 1–2 years in hospitality as a Night Porter or in a hotel audits role is preferred. Shift work includes late nights and early handovers.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience as a Night Porter or Auditor in a hotel or hospitality setting is preferred.
• Reliable, well-organised, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Night Manager in ensuring guest safety and smooth overnight operations.
• Perform cleaning duties and maintain property standards.
• Handle late check-ins, early check-outs, and reservation checks.
• Support night audits, including fire, health & safety, and security checks.
• Prepare for breakfast service and provide shift handovers.
• Follow emergency procedures, including fire evacuations.

Following a multi-million-pound refurbishment, The Meadow Lark is set to become one of Cambridgeshire’s most exciting premium pubs with rooms, and we’re looking for Night Managers and Night Porters to join our opening team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of something special from day one. You’ll play an important role in looking after our guests overnight, ensuring the hotel remains safe, secure and welcoming, while providing excellent service to our residents.

Whether you’re an experienced Night Manager or looking to join us as a Night Porter, we’re looking for reliable, friendly and confident people who are comfortable working independently and taking pride in creating a great guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Night Manager in ensuring guest safety and smooth overnight operations.

About You:

• You’re responsible, reliable, and have a keen eye for details


• Well-organised and able to learn systems and audits for overnight


• Have the ability to work alone when night managers are off


• 1-2 years of experience as a Night Porter/ Auditor in a hotel or hospitality setting
