Job summary

The Meadow Lark, Trumpington, Cambridge, is opening late 2026 and seeks Night Managers to join the opening team. You’ll look after guests overnight, ensuring the hotel is safe, secure and welcoming while providing excellent service to residents.

Whether you’re an experienced Night Manager or aiming to join as a Night Porter, we want reliable, friendly and confident people who can work independently and take pride in creating a great guest experience.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years' experience as a Night Manager in a hotel or hospitality setting.
• Well-organised with ability to work with systems.
• Reliable with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Handle late guest check-ins, checkouts, and room allocations/upgrades via PMS.
• Perform night audits, including fire, health and safety, security, and compliance checks.
• Ensure breakfast service preparation and thorough shift handover.
• Manage cleaning duties and uphold property cleanliness and standards.
• Evacuate the property following procedures.

Following a multi-million-pound refurbishment, The Meadow Lark is set to become one of Cambridgeshire’s most exciting premium pubs with rooms, and we’re looking for Night Managers and Night Porters to join our opening team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of something special from day one. You’ll play an important role in looking after our guests overnight, ensuring the hotel remains safe, secure and welcoming, while providing excellent service to our residents.

Whether you’re an experienced Night Manager or looking to join us as a Night Porter, we’re looking for reliable, friendly and confident people who are comfortable working independently and taking pride in creating a great guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle late guest check-ins, early check-outs, and room allocations/ upgrades through the Property Management System (PMS)
• Perform night audits, including fire, health and safety, security, and compliance checks; collaborate and hand over with the Management Team
• Ensure breakfast service preparation is completed and provide a thorough shift handover
• Manage cleaning duties and oversee property cleanliness and standards
• Evacuate the property in case of fire alarm activation, following company procedures

About You:

• You’re responsible, reliable, and have a keen eye for details
• Well-organised and able to work with systems and communicate effectively
• Have the ability to work alone and solve problems independently
• 1-2 years' experience as a Night Manager in a hotel or hospitality setting
