Job Summary

We are strengthening our Nights team with an additional Night Porter working three shifts per week on a weekly rota. Reporting to the Guest Relations Manager and Head of Concierge, this role is crucial in ensuring the safety and security of the building and guests during night hours. Full training will be provided, with a preference for candidates with a security background. Reliability, vigilance, initiative, and the ability to react swiftly are essential.

Requirements

Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and be able to commute to the hotel between 10pm and 7am.

Job Responsibilities

1. Overnight Presence: Provide vigilant and discreet Front of House service during the night.
2. Guest Safety: Be familiar with overnight guest, staff, and visitor counts for evacuation procedures.
3. Handover: Receive and communicate detailed handovers with relevant staff.
4. Communication: Answer calls on the main switchboard or mobile phone throughout the night.
5. Guest Reception: Welcome late-arriving guests, assist with luggage, valet parking, and ensure guest comfort.
6. Room Service: Fulfill orders from the night menu, knowing dish components and ingredients location.
7. Patrols and Security Checks: Regularly inspect the building, ensuring doors and windows are secure, and note maintenance needs.
8. Fire Safety: Be familiar with fire alarm panels, reading displays, and procedures for alarm management.
9. Guest Area Maintenance: Keep lounges tidy, clear tables, and prepare spaces for the night.
10. Fire Management: Monitor fires, extinguish when needed, and prepare fires for the morning.
11. Room Checks: Verify bedrooms are secure and lights are off.

Qualifications

Experience in security or night work is advantageous. A high standard of personal grooming, thoroughness, vigilance, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are required.
