One of the UK's leading Five Red Star country house hotels, Palé Hall is a destination for luxury and culinary indulgence. Situated at the Snowdonia National Park, this historic Victorian mansion features eighteen bedrooms and suites, along with four charming garden suites within the estate grounds. With plans for significant investment and growth over the coming months, this is an exciting place to be!

We are strengthening our Nights team with an additional Night Porter, working three shifts per week on a weekly rota basis. Reporting to the Guest Relations Manager and Head of Concierge, this role is crucial in ensuring the safety and security of the building and our guests during night hours. Full training will be provided. Preference will be given to candidates with a security background. Reliability, vigilance, initiative, and the ability to react swiftly and effectively to issues that arise during the night are essential qualities.

Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK and be able to commute to the hotel within the shift hours of 10pm - 7am.

Job Description

1. Overnight Presence: Provide an alert, vigilant, and discreet Front of House presence during night hours.
2. Guest and Staff Safety: Be familiar with the overnight house count of guests, staff, and visitors for evacuation purposes.
3. Handover Communication: Take detailed handovers from the late receptionist and Duty Manager at the start of your shift, and communicate any relevant information to the early receptionist the following morning.
4. Communication: Answer internal and external calls throughout the night via the main switchboard or mobile phone.
5. Guest Assistance: Welcome late-arriving guests, assist with luggage and valet parking, and ensure their comfort.
6. Room Service: Fulfill orders from the night menu, familiar with dish components and ingredients.
7. Building Checks: Conduct regular patrols, ensure doors and windows are secured, note maintenance needs, and suggest procedural improvements.
8. Fire Safety: Be familiar with fire alarm panels, reading displays, locating detectors, and procedures for alarm management.
9. Guest Areas Maintenance: Keep lounges tidy, clear tables, and prepare lounges for the morning.
10. Fire Management: Monitor and extinguish fires, clear grates, and restock fires with logs and kindling for the next day.
11. Bedrooms and Windows: Check bedrooms, ensure lights are off, and windows are closed.
