Job Overview

We are strengthening our Nights team with an additional Night Porter to work three shifts per week on a weekly rota basis. Reporting to the Guest Relations Manager and Head of Concierge, this role is crucial in ensuring the safety and security of the building and our guests during night hours. Full training will be provided, with a preference for candidates with a security background. Reliability, vigilance, initiative, and the ability to react swiftly to issues are essential.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK and be able to commute to the hotel within the shift hours of 10pm - 7am.

Responsibilities

1. Provide an alert and discreet Front of House presence overnight.
2. Be familiar with the overnight house count for evacuation purposes.
3. Take and give detailed handovers with the late and early shifts.
4. Answer calls via switchboard or mobile during the night.
5. Welcome late-night guests, assist with luggage and parking, and ensure their comfort.
6. Fulfill Room Service orders from the night menu, knowing the dishes and ingredients.
7. Conduct regular patrols, ensuring security and noting maintenance needs.
8. Be familiar with fire alarm procedures and controls.
9. Maintain guest areas, keep lounges tidy, and manage fires safely.
10. Perform cleaning duties as specified.
11. Monitor and manage open fires, ensuring safety and readiness for the morning.
12. Check empty bedrooms, lights, and windows.

Qualifications

A security or night work background is advantageous. A high standard of personal grooming, thoroughness, vigilance, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are required.
