Smart Solutions in Caythorpe, NG32 is seeking an experienced Loading Shovel Driver for an ongoing full-time role at a busy waste recycling facility. The role involves safely moving materials, feeding shredders, and supporting screening operations with night shifts 18:00–04:00.

You will perform pre-start checks, report defects, and ensure safe yard operations while working as part of a small team. The position offers regular hours and permanent employment for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Valid Loading Shovel licence – essential.
• Previous experience operating a Loading Shovel.
• Experience within waste, recycling, aggregates, quarrying or a similar environment is highly desirable.
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to get involved with general site duties.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a Loading Shovel.
• Feed green waste materials into shredders.
• Support screening operations and maintain a consistent flow of materials.
• Move, load and stockpile materials around the site.
• Complete daily pre-start checks and basic machine inspections.
• Identify and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
• Follow all site health and safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Assist with general site duties when required.
