Job summary

Smart Solutions is recruiting for an experienced Loading Shovel Driver at their Colsterworth site near Grantham. £15.50p/h, paid weekly every Friday, working Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00.

Immediate start available for the right candidate and full-time ongoing work at a green waste recycling facility. The role involves safely operating a loading shovel, feeding materials into shredding machinery, and supporting screening and material separation processes.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating a loading shovel is essential.
• A valid loading shovel licence or competency card preferred.
• Experience in recycling, waste management, quarrying or similar environment advantageous.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
• Reliable and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate a loading shovel safely and efficiently.
• Feed green waste materials into shredding machinery.
• Support screening operations and material separation processes.
• Load and unload vehicles as required.
• Sort, move, and manage green waste materials around the site.
• Carry out daily machine inspections and report any defects.
• Perform basic machine maintenance, including greasing and cleaning.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Follow all site Health & Safety procedures at all times.
• Assist with other site duties as required.

Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced Loading Shovel Driver to join their busy green waste recycling site in Colsterworth, Grantham.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing operation where you'll play a key role in the handling and processing of green waste materials. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a loading shovel safely and efficiently while supporting the site's shredding and screening operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a loading shovel safely and efficiently.
• Feed green waste materials into shredding machinery.
• Support screening operations and material separation processes.
• Load and unload vehicles as required.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience operating a loading shovel is essential.

• Previous experience within recycling, waste management, quarrying, agriculture, or a similar environment is advantageous.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
