Job summary

Contract Personnel Ltd in Norwich are recruiting an experienced Loading Shovel Operator for their recycling plant on the outskirts of the city. You will load/unload materials, operate the loading shovel safely, and help maintain production flow in a fast-paced environment.

The role is full-time with a 4 on 4 off rotation, 12-hour shifts from 06:00 to 18:00. A valid CPCS or equivalent certification and good Health & Safety knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Loading Shovel Operator, preferably in a recycling or waste management environment.
• Valid CPCS or equivalent certification for Loading Shovel operation.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle a variety of materials.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the loading shovel to move materials within the plant, including recyclable materials and waste products.
• Load and unload materials from containers, vehicles, and stockpiles.
• Ensure efficient material flow to and from processing areas, while maintaining strict adherence to operational procedures and safety protocols.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance on machinery, reporting any faults or issues.
• Collaborate with the site team to meet production goals and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring all Health & Safety regulations are followed.
• Work closely with supervisors and other staff to meet the recycling plant's operational requirements.
