Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a General Assistant to support kitchen operations and hospitality activities. You will assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, help with deliveries, and serve customers according to the menu. You may also host events and top up vending services.

Ideal candidates have basic catering knowledge, strong time management, and excellent organisational skills. Right to work in the UK is required; training may be provided for food hygiene.

Qualifications

• Commercial kitchen experience is valued but not essential.
• Basic Catering and Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling is desirable but not essential; training can be provided.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Can stand for extended periods due to the physical nature of the role.
• Right to work in the UK is required.
• Food hygiene Level 2 desirable but training can be supplied.
• Excellent customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment; clean utensils, tableware and catering stations.
• Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries; organise food and storage areas.
• Serve food items to customers according to the menu; may host/waiter at events.
• Top up vending services.
