Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a motivated General Assistant to support the kitchen and front-of-house operations. You will help with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, handle deliveries, and serve customers when required.

We value a positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work under pressure. Basic catering certification is preferred, and the role includes occasional hosting or waiter duties at events.

Qualifications

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK.
• Commercial kitchen experience is valued but not essential.
• Basic Catering and Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling or equivalent is desired but not essential.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent organisational skills are important.
• Can stand for extended periods due to the physical nature of the job.

Responsibilities

• Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads.
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment; clean utensils, tableware, and catering stations.
• Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries and organise food and supply storage.
• Serve food items to customers when needed and act as host/waiter at events.
