Job summary

Advanced Engineering is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer for night shift to maintain production equipment and reduce downtime in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical and automation faults, work independently on night shifts, and contribute to continuous improvement while complying with health & safety standards.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Experience in maintenance engineering within manufacturing, FMCG or food production.
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• Proactive approach to equipment reliability and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and automation faults across production and packaging machinery.
• Minimise downtime and identify root causes of recurring equipment failures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Work closely with production teams to maintain efficient operations.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety standards and are accurately recorded.

Maintenance Engineer - Night Shift

Monday to Thursday

The Role

An established FMCG manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join its night shift engineering team. You will play a key role in maintaining production equipment, minimising downtime and improving machinery reliability within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.

About You

• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and equipment reliability.
• Ability to work independently and prioritise breakdowns on night shift
