Job summary

Workshop Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for night shifts at Havant. You will provide hands-on electrical, mechanical and fault-finding support to maintain production equipment and improve reliability.

The role runs Sunday to Thursday night shifts with a 30-minute break, offering a site-based permanent position. Strong PLCs, sensors, and Lean experience are preferred; 18th Edition is desirable.

Qualifications

• Time-served and/or HNC-qualified in Electro-Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years’ production experience in a similar Maintenance Engineer role.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, pneumatic drawings and schematics.
• Strong electrical, electronic, mechanical and fault-finding knowledge.
• Experience with PLCs, sensors, vision systems and test equipment.
• Experience applying Lean techniques within volume manufacturing.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Robotics, conveyors, hydraulics and 18th Edition experience are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair production machinery, equipment, tools, jigs and fixtures.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and equipment faults.
• Provide technical support, mentoring and guidance to Maintenance Technicians.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and calibration records through the CMMS.
• Monitor equipment performance, including MTBF, MTTR and OEE.
• Identify and implement improvements to equipment reliability and performance.
• Support engineering teams with equipment and process improvements.
• Produce and report maintenance KPIs and planned improvement activity.

Are you a Maintenance Engineer with strong electrical, mechanical and fault-finding skills looking for a site-based night-shift opportunity? Join an established manufacturing environment where you will provide hands‑on engineering support, maintain production equipment and help drive reliability and continuous improvement. This is a site‑based Maintenance Engineer role working nights from Sunday to Thursday, supporting production and ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable and available.
