Zest Recruitment Group is recruiting for a Night Shift Engineer at a well-established food manufacturer in the UK. You will respond to breakdowns, perform planned maintenance and improve reliability to reduce downtime while upholding food safety standards.

Work closely with production teams to hit output targets and maintain hygiene. A engineering qualification and strong fault-finding ability are essential; experience with high-speed lines and permit-to-work is desirable.

Formación

• Engineering qualification with practical maintenance experience.
• Multi-skilled experience in food / FMCG manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding skills.
• Able to make sound decisions under pressure.

Responsabilidades

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on high-speed production and packaging equipment.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with the maintenance schedule.
• Support continuous improvement projects and root cause analysis to reduce recurring issues.
• Complete accurate records of work carried out using CMMS system.
• Work in line with food safety, hygiene and health & safety requirements, including safe isolation and permit-to-work procedures.
• Hand over clearly to the day shift team to ensure continuity.

Our client is a well-established food manufacturer and with continued investment in their site and production lines, they're looking for a skilled Night Shift Engineer to join their engineering team and keep operations running safely and efficiently through the night.

The role:

You'll respond to breakdowns, carry out planned maintenance and look for ways to improve reliability and reduce downtime. Working closely with production teams, you'll play a key part in hitting output targets while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on high-speed production and packaging equipment
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with the maintenance schedule
• Support continuous improvement projects and root cause analysis to reduce recurring issues
• Complete accurate records of work carried out using CMMS system
• Work in line with food safety, hygiene and health & safety requirements, including safe isolation and permit-to-work procedures
• Hand over clearly to the day shift team to ensure continuity

What you’ll need:

• An engineering qualification
• Multi-skilled experience, ideally gained in food, FMCG or another fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong fault-finding skills
• Comfortable making sound decisions under pressure
