Job summary

Your Place, based in East London, invites applications for a Night Concierge Officer to join our overnight team at Canning Town. This permanent role runs 48 hours per week and you’ll be the first point of contact for residents, visitors and contractors outside of normal hours.

You will help maintain a safe, welcoming environment across homelessness and supported housing services, manage access to buildings, monitor CCTV, and support welfare checks, incidents and handovers with trauma-informed

Qualifications

• Experience in a concierge, customer service, hostel, supported housing, or similar environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to remain calm under pressure and deal with challenging situations professionally.
• Good IT skills and accurate record-keeping abilities.
• A commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and maintaining professional boundaries.
• A reliable, proactive, and team-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Managing access to buildings and maintaining site security overnight.
• Providing a professional, friendly, and trauma-informed customer service to residents and visitors.
• Monitoring CCTV and responding appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and welfare concerns.
• Carrying out health and safety responsibilities, including fire safety procedures and welfare checks.
• Supporting residents overnight alongside the Night Support Worker.
• Maintaining accurate records, completing handovers, and updating systems with incidents, complaints, and other relevant information.
• Distributing post and parcels and managing equipment loans.
• Keeping reception, entrance, and communal areas clean and tidy.
• Undertaking cleaning duties as directed by the management team.
• Carrying out basic facilities management tasks.
• Reporting repairs, maintenance issues, health and safety concerns, and any environmental hazards promptly.
